January has come and gone so quickly this year and we look forward to our upcoming February projects.  In January we completed an exciting glue down vinyl tile project with grout lines.  It is currently one of my favourite flooring options.  I like the fact that the floor stays warmer compared to traditional stone if you don’t want to deal with the additional cost of installing in floor heat.  It stands up very well to foot traffic and pets so long as you choose a higher quality vinyl.  Not all vinyl flooring is created equal. Ideally you want commercial grade Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) with a thicker wear layer that has a warmer feel underfoot.

In this instance we installed  a 1/4″ SurePly underlayment to make sure that the vinyl tile had a sound and flat surface to glue too.  We left 1/8′ grout lines to mimic a traditional tile floor.  Grout lines add an extra step to the installation process but generally add to the longevity and beauty of the floor system.

Feel free to call us with any floor ideas you have been thinking about.  We also install many types of Hardwood, any tile you can think of and all sorts of different vinyl plank or sheets, and laminate.
